Community Involvement Committee Diamond Gala


The Virginia Credit Union League’s Community Involvement Committee will host the Diamond Gala on May 7 during the Annual Meeting Food Fair (Hyatt Regency Reston, Reston, Virginia).

Join us for a fun-filled evening as we host our 2nd Annual Bids 4 Kids Silent Auction and a brand new event in which we’ll raffle off chances to win a $1,200 ½-carat weight diamond, courtesy of our friends at Carlyle & Co. (www.carlyleco.com). All proceeds from these events will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network hospitals serving the Commonwealth. Help us help kids in need!

Bid on dozens of items, including the hottest electronics and stunning jewelry. Items from last year’s auction included a Nintendo Wii, Apple iPods, one-of-a-kind tapestries and a high-definition TV. This year promises to be bigger and better!

Want to help us with this effort? Please consider donating an item to our Silent Auction. Credit unions and individuals are being asked to donate an item with a retail value of at least $50. Chapters are asked to donate an item with a retail value of at least $250.

New to this year’s Community Involvement event is our Diamond Gala fund-raiser. You’ll have the chance to win ½-carat weight diamond valued at $1,200!

Here’s how it works: We’ll raffle off champagne flutes, which will have either a ½-carat weight cubic zirconia or, in the case of one lucky person, our “real” ½-carat weight diamond! The champagne flutes are $25 each. You keep the flute and whatever stone you get — either a dazzling cubic zirconia or, for one lucky person, a beautiful high-grade diamond!
